A one-time restaurateur, caterer, and professional sea cook, Kathryn Farron, the Gimbaled Gourmet, combines her unique culinary skills with a wealth of knowledge and practical experience from a life well lived on and by the water. A true Pacific Northwest native, Kathy’s confidence and grace in a cooking environment aboard and ashore have captivated a global audience for over thirty years.
Readers have long enjoyed Kathy’s lively monthly food columns in various boating periodicals. You can now find Kathy’s column in Seattle based Northwest Yachting Magazine. Kathy is also known for her island lifestyle articles.
Not only has she orchestrated and contributed to numerous cook books, Kathy has now published six of her own. With Landfall, her sixth and final cook book, Kathy shares her passion for both boat and beach fare, as the two very often overlap. Consisting of over 250 pages of treasured recipes that capture and document the food of a specific era, Landfall is truly a tribute – a legacy left behind for the next generation.
